Defiant Munitions 7.62×39mm 190gr TCX-S – Total Copper X-panding Subsonic
Defiant Munitions’ 7.62×39mm 190-grain TCX-S ammunition is engineered as a true subsonic load. The TCX-S expanding projectile is specifically designed to deliver controlled expansion, deep penetration, and exceptional bullet weight retention at subsonic velocities.
The TCX-S projectile is engineered to retain 100% of its original bullet weight following expansion, helping maintain projectile integrity while delivering consistent terminal performance.
This load is optimized for bolt-action rifles such as the Ruger American and performs exceptionally well in shorter-barreled platforms chambered in 7.62×39mm. Through extensive testing, Defiant Munitions has found that this ammunition delivers exceptional accuracy from the Ruger American and other compatible rifles, making it an excellent choice for shooters seeking precision and consistency from a subsonic cartridge.
The 190-grain TCX-S can also be used in compatible semi-automatic rifles, including AK-pattern firearms. However, because of the operating characteristics of subsonic ammunition, reliable automatic cycling is not guaranteed. Some firearms may require manual cycling between shots.
Designed for hunting and defensive applications, the TCX-S projectile is engineered to expand at reduced impact velocities, with expansion reported at extended distances under tested conditions. Actual terminal performance depends on impact velocity, shot placement, and the intended game.
Engineered to deliver true subsonic performance, the 190-grain TCX-S produces a muzzle velocity of 1,000 feet per second and 422 foot-pounds of energy from a 14.5-inch test barrel with a twist rate of 1 in 9.5 twist.
Whether used for deer hunting, feral hog hunting, or other lawful applications, the Defiant Munitions 190-grain TCX-S combines exceptional accuracy, controlled expansion, and a projectile designed for 100% weight retention in a purpose-built subsonic 7.62×39mm cartridge.

7.62x39 190gr TCX Subsonic
Ruger American Ranch Gen 1 with Dead Air Sandman S Consistent group at 50 yards no keyholes. The nose of these bullets are wide and could cause issues feeding in some mags and/or firearms. AR15 mags did not seat high enough and nose would hang up at the base of the feed ramp. Switched to mini 30 5 round mag well and mags no issues. BRN-180 would not feed with 10 round AR mags until I downloaded to 5 rounds and opened up the front end of the feed lips to angle the bullets up more. Seems ok now I need to try some different brand msgs. Mags used are Duramags and ASC.. I plan to hunt with big game with these I will try to update on expansion if successful.

Shoot these out of my Ruger Rancher bolt gun and they are killer! Dead silent with the Hybrid 46 can. Very accurate. Killed a 200lb boar at 75 yards and dropped him in his tracks. Highly recommend these to anyone looking for subsonic x39 round!!

Awesome product.Shot this 170 lb boar with the 7.62x39 TCX 190 grain subsonic at 75 yards and he only went about 50 yards and fell over dead. Best shooting x39 round iv found. My gun is a Ruger rancher x39 with hybrid 46 can. Add the defiant ammunition with it and it’s deadly! .
