Built with all new components, the TCX223 62 is a 62 grain, .223 caliber Solid Copper Defensive round, with a muzzle velocity of 3,000 feet per second and 1,239 ft/lbs of muzzle energy, as tested in a standard 18 inch, 1 in 8 twist barrel.
The brass for this ammunition receives a proprietary, TPD plating giving 5X the lubricity compared to non-plated brass. This corrosion resistant plating won't crack or flake, like nickel plating can, and improves extraction and ejection of spent brass.

TCX (Total Copper X-panding) ammunition incorporates a 100% solid copper projectile, with both interior and exterior serrations to ensure maximum expansion.
There is no bi-metallic bonding to separate or otherwise fail, as can occur with JHP (Jacketed HollowPoint) projectiles. The result is consistent penetration that meets or exceeds FBI standards, and expansion that reliably out performs typical JHP (Jacketed HollowPoint) projectiles.

I watched Tools&Targets over on YouTube test these 62gr TCX cartridges, & I was just awe struck at the expansion from a 5.56 (.223) bullet. So I had to buy a bunch to test them myself! ...& no surprise, they're awesome, they feed like a dream, & are very accurate out of the Desert Tech MDRX. There's no other defensive ammo I've seen that performs like this Defiant Munitions load!

I have been waiting to order these for sometime now. I have even messaged about them in the passed. When I found out that they were coming out that the black coating in the 62gr I was even more excited. I put in my pre-order and once they were shipping I happened to look on the website and to my disbelief they were still in stock so I ordered more. Soon as the order came I loaded up mags and loaded my Rifle. Then I thought. wait I need to shoot a few of these off hand just trying a few of them out I was more then impressed! Pete does a great job and if you ever have any questions he will take care of you. We need more businesses like what Pete is putting together and all this takes time and effort. If you are not buying and using Defiant Munitions you are doing it wrong!

I've carried Pete's ammo for years even when he was with the other company. He will not send out ammo he wouldn't want to trust to defend his family. This ammo is exactly what I expected from years of knowing his ammo. This ammo has a OCD level of detail to it that most people will never pick up on. The details in the projectile and the cuts that control expansion where the most impressive thing for me. I tested a few rounds in my bolt gun and it fed perfect and was spot on for my zero. These hit with authority like pimp with a powdered hand that thinks his hoe owes him money. I have no doubt it will put meat in the freezer if I do my part.
