In 1982, Peter Pi Sr. founded Cor-Bon Ammunition with a vision that would help redefine defensive handgun ammunition. At a time when conventional loads dominated the market, he pioneered high-velocity, purpose-built hollow-point ammunition and helped establish Cor-Bon as a recognized name in defensive ammunition.
One of his most iconic offerings was the original 9mm Luger 125-grain Jacketed Hollow Point, a load that helped build Cor-Bon’s reputation for exceptional ballistic performance.
More than four decades later, that history still matters.
After nearly two decades working in the ammunition industry, I wanted to create something that would honor my father and the legacy he built.
The result is our DDM (Defiant Defensive Match) 9mm Luger 125gr JHP +P.
The DDM designation represents our commitment to combining match-quality precision and consistency with the ballistic performance demanded of a defensive cartridge.
Developed as a personal tribute to my father, this ammunition captures the spirit of the original high-velocity defensive loads that helped make Cor-Bon famous.
Launching a 125-grain jacketed hollow point at 1,250 feet per second, generating 434 foot-pounds of muzzle energy, this +P load carries forward that tradition of performance.
But velocity and energy are only part of the equation.
In our testing using the FBI heavy clothing barrier protocol, this ammunition has consistently demonstrated 16 inches of penetration in ballistic gelatin, reflecting our commitment to meaningful terminal ballistic performance.
Velocity and energy figures were obtained using a Glock 17 equipped with a 4.49-inch barrel, providing a practical reference for real-world handgun performance.
For those who remember the original Cor-Bon ammunition, this load represents a connection to an important chapter in defensive ammunition history.

Simply The Best
The DDM rounds are the BEST self ammunition I've ever used. Zero feed issues in any weapon I've used. Velocity is actually better than what the box states. This is the ammo that I trust to defend my family.
